This World Humanitarian Day, Peace For Asia applauds those who selflessly aid people in need during times of crisis.
World Humanitarian Day is held across the globe on 19th August to pay tribute to humanitarian workers killed and injured during the course of their work. It also seeks to honour all health and aid workers who continue to work in crisis situations beating all odds to provide life-saving support and protection to people who need it the most.
A bomb attack in 2003 on the Canal Hotel in Baghdad, Iraq, killed 22 people. In 2009, the UN General Assembly formalized 19th August as World Humanitarian Day.
